Outdoor Research® products are built with only the highest-quality standards, rigorously tested, and with your total satisfaction as our goal. Our Infinite Guarantee® covers used gear that has a defect in materials, workmanship, or product failures for the lifetime of the product.

We want to see our customers use our gear to its full potential, which will include natural weathering from outdoor environments. Unfortunately, we do not accept warranties for this type of normal wear and tear, or for products that have been handled against their intended use, involved in accidents, defaced, or sold from non-authorized dealers. Because each piece of gear carries its own unique story, our customer service team will handle warranties on a case-by-case basis.

Lengthen the life of your gear with tips from our Verticulture blog:


  • Please wait to send product back to us until a Return Authorization (RA#) has been issued to you by our customer service department.
  • Clearly write the RA# on the outside of your package and mail it to us at your earliest convenience.
  • Be sure to clean products before sending them back to us. Products will be returned to their owner if they are sent to us unclean.
  • We recommend returning items via a traceable and insured method (UPS, FedEx, etc.). We are not responsible for items until they are received by our warehouse.

If we are able to fulfill your warranty claim and are out of stock of the item you require, we will happily issue you an online credit to utilize at www.outdoorresearch.com. This credit will not expire and can be used on any item available on our website.
